About Us

In 1982 we bought an existing plumbing supply business. The name was changed from Orez Plumbing Supplies to Premier Plumbing Supplies. This business specialized in the plumbing maintenance market.

In 1984, we bought another business, Union Plumbing Supplies, they were located in Central Johannesburg, and concentrated on the contract plumbing side.

In 1986, we combined both these business divisions to service both the contract and maintenance markets. The business was operated from Highland North in Johannesburg. We still have our store in Highlands North, but now in larger premises.

In 1990, we opened our first showroom, under the name SANITARYWARE CENTRE. This showroom was located in Wynberg – Johannesburg.

We were now serious players in the plumbing market, as we now serviced the contract, maintenance, and the domestic markets. We experienced tremendous growth, and in 1994, we moved the showroom to the new Woodmead shopping precinct. We had to move to bigger premises, as the variety we needed to display increased considerably due to the global market opening to us South Africans.

In 1997, we saw the opportunity to expand into the Pretoria market. We opened our 3rd store, this in Pretoria East. We opened both a showroom, trading as “Sanitaryware Centre“, and a trade counter trading under the name “Union Plumbing Supplies“.

In 2001, we moved our Woodmead store in the same centre but, to a shop double the size of our old store. We have an 840 m² showroom in Woodmead.

In November 2004, we opened our 4th store in Fourways. This store also has two divisions, and also trades under the names “Sanitaryware Centre“ and “Union Plumbing Supplies“.

The company has been able to grow, and be successful, only due to our wonderful team, who are loyal, committed and skilled to serve you, our important customer. We pride ourselves on our friendly staff and the fact that we offer great service at very competitive prices.
